Week Nine: Reviewing MIN, DIA, and WAG

By now--Week 9--you are hopefully thinking more clearly, accomplishing more projects, praying more effectively, and planning ahead more often.

As we head into the third month of SMCT Quarter 2, we turn a corner.

This Series began with us taking an entire month to focus on the "Most Important Now," asking ourselves simple questions that would keep us from wasting time (calories, and money)! Making your MIN a quick prayer is an even more effective and less stressful way o accomplish even the seemingly simple things in each day.

Then we took another month to strategically plan out our lives "One Day in Advance." Hopefully, you found a real rhythm to each day--one that is repeatable. (In other words, if you can repeat a productive Monday every Monday--it will become a favorite day! Ex: early QT, walking workout, and after-work grocery shopping.) Once you have a few productive days in each week, you are ready to think in terms of "Week at a Glance" planning.

MIN to DIA to WAG. If you and I can hold onto the MIN and commit to planning our schedule one DIA, then we can connect our minutes and days into very productive weeks.

This month we will stretch ourselves to think/look/plan our lives one WAG.

(Did you follow all of that? I promise our phone call will be a bit more inspirational!)

Be encouraged,

Becky

  1. Drat- life at work happened and I am late to the call, so will catch it on the recording. Did have an interesting confirmation today that I will share. I receive a daily email devotional from Proverbs 31 Ministries. Today's message entitled "Do the Next Thing" reinforces what Becky has been sharing with us. The author quotes Oswald Chambers in "My Utmost for His Highest": "We look for visions from heaven, for earthquakes and thunders of God's power... and we never dream that all the time God is in the commonplace things and people around us. If we will do the duty that lies nearest, we shall see Him."

"When the Spirit of God comes, He does not give us visions, He tells us to do the most ordinary things conceivable... whenever God comes, the inspiration is to do the most natural, simple things—the things we would never have imagined God was in, and as we do them we find He is there."
Interesting how God seeks to reinforce my/our best efforts to keep doing the MIN and the DIA and in so doing, we meet Him on the path. Thanks Becky for all the great guidance. Many a-ha's coming to me this past couple of weeks! I am grateful! Mary Ann K

  2. If you have the book, Keep The Change, I took my 5 questions from pages 126-129 or you can listen to the call and hear all 5 questions. Take notes!

  3. Mary Ann, thanks for sharing that.
I'm a P31 moderator and I dont get the devotionals. Really amazing how that all ties in.
I think I need to get an Oswald Chambers written in modern English, mine seems to be King James English...

  4. I have a huge confession to make... this is the first time I have ever made a comment and have been a member since Jan 09. Because of major obstacles in my life, I am behind on the phone calls and assignments. As a teacher, I hope to catch up now that it's summer break and would welcome all of your input on the best, most effective way to do that. I have completed through 4-29. Would it be better to try to do 2-3 devotions each week til I catch up or what do you think? Since you all have completed the weekly assignments, I hope you will be able to advise me.
    Thanks,
    Robin

  5. Robin, I'll bet if you put the call information with the blog assignments, and get that all down, you can just implement things as you go.
I've been here the whole time and am still and constantly working and applying (some weeks better than others).
    God bless!

  6. In reviewing the blog assignment for this week, I decided I have already blown this week and am working on the mission statement for next week.
Has one week really gone by already? ? ?
I'm making some plans on paper, and trying to incorporate that into my CYL journal.
But, as I said, it's going to be *next* week's mission.......
