Week Nine: Reviewing MIN, DIA, and WAG
By now--Week 9--you are hopefully thinking more clearly, accomplishing more projects, praying more effectively, and planning ahead more often.
As we head into the third month of SMCT Quarter 2, we turn a corner.
This Series began with us taking an entire month to focus on the "Most Important Now," asking ourselves simple questions that would keep us from wasting time (calories, and money)! Making your MIN a quick prayer is an even more effective and less stressful way o accomplish even the seemingly simple things in each day.
Then we took another month to strategically plan out our lives "One Day in Advance." Hopefully, you found a real rhythm to each day--one that is repeatable. (In other words, if you can repeat a productive Monday every Monday--it will become a favorite day! Ex: early QT, walking workout, and after-work grocery shopping.) Once you have a few productive days in each week, you are ready to think in terms of "Week at a Glance" planning.
MIN to DIA to WAG. If you and I can hold onto the MIN and commit to planning our schedule one DIA, then we can connect our minutes and days into very productive weeks.
This month we will stretch ourselves to think/look/plan our lives one WAG.
(Did you follow all of that? I promise our phone call will be a bit more inspirational!)
Be encouraged,
Becky

Week Eight: Clear the Clutter
As you continue to prayerfully consider how to plan one DAY IN ADVANCE, I want to encourage you to clear the clutter off your home or office desk, kitchen or bathroom counter, and out of your inbox or mailbox, closet, refrigerator, or car trunk!
When? This is the perfect weekend to take each of these areas and eliminate and concentrate!
How? In 10 minute chunks (increments) with a trash bag at your side, a marking pen in your hand, and a box for storage at your feet!
Why? To make your life easier, more efficient, and peaceful!
You can do it! In fact, let's do it together! Put your 10-15 minute increments on your calendar NOW for the weekend.
Be encouraged,
Becky

Week Seven: Don't Worry About Tomorrow, Plan for it!
W. Clement Stone said, "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."
One of the key mis-steps we make in planning is to plan TOO LITTLE time for a project or task or errand to be completed. I want to encourage you to plan MORE time than you need to (1) drive to a location for the first time, (2) complete paperwork, (3) make an office visit, (4) park for an appointment, (5) or fix/repair/mend something. I've found that each of the listed "to-do's" often take longer than you expect. When you don't give yourself enough time, you end up either rushing or being late. Neither is acceptable IF you want to have self-control and/or peace in your demeanor.
This week, as you plan one "DAY IN ADVANCE," set aside more time than you need to do something tomorrow. And if you are early, have a book or project in your purse or car (even walking shoes) for spending your free time doing something you WANT to do!
Be encouraged!

Week Six: Pray before you Plan
This week, as we continue to focus on how to plan ahead ONE "Day in Advance," we'll continue to connect our spiritual lives with our physical lives: .
Many of you commented on the simple prayer I posted last week because it allowed you to turn a planning session into a God-inspired appointment with the King. Rather than look at your calendar (day/life) with dread or anxiety, consider your time, not only as a gift from God--but a way to serve Him, as well.
In your DIA planning (especially of the non-negotiables: healthy eating/regular exercise, quiet time, standing appointments, and transfer of incomplete tasks), consider breaking down each day (some of you have heard this before) into "8 Daily To-Do's."
Eat Right -- how, what, when, where, and why...are you going to eat tomorrow?
Exercise Regularly -- how, what, when, where, and why...are you going to exercise tomorrow?
Forgive and Give -- what do you have to give that someone else needs? Your apology, your generosity? Be specific!
Talk to God and Listen to God -- plan your time alone with God ONE DAY IN ADVANCE and put it on your calendar. (And when others ask if that time is free, apologize saying, "I'm sorry, I have a previous appointment!"
Detail your Day -- Even small chores/tasks when placed on your calendar (just one DIA) will get accomplished much sooner than if they remain a "good idea."
Define your Dreams -- You must put a deadline beside your dreams--the "grad" day, as well as deadlines for tasks along the way toward completing the dream!
If you will faithfully complete the 8 Daily To-Do's over the next 30 to 60 days YOU WILL see a change in your life...
Be encouraged,
Becky
